The Estonian Journal of Engineering begins its way in science publishing as an independent journal. However, this is not a fully new beginning, but a renovated and modernized continuation of the journal Proceedings of the Estonian Academy of Sciences, Engineering.
The Estonian Academy of Sciences has been publishing its proceedings for more than 50 years and the series Engineering since 1995. The series Engineering was internationally peer-reviewed and abstracted or indexed in several review journals and databases and during the last decade it had an important role in making East Baltic engineering more visible in the world. The ties of succession between the two journals are stressed by continued volume numeration.
The Estonian Journal of Engineering will be published by the Estonian Academy of Sciences in collaboration with Tallinn University of Technology, the University of Tartu, Tallinn University, and the Estonian University of Life Sciences.
The journal publishes review papers and original papers in all fields of engineering, including mechanical and civil engineering, engineering mechanics, material science, electronics, informatics and coastal engineering.
